One day at the end of rest time I entered the girls' room to find this:
Grace had constructed her own tent out of a sheet & diaper boxes. She even used her books stacked on Titus' changing table to keep up the sheet. She was asleep inside!
So, later in the week they asked for help making a tent. With an extra sheet and some chip clips we were able to make a tent big enough for two.
Before nap I crawled in with them to read them a chapter from our American Girl book. This is a new tradition before nap/bedtime of reading a chapter at a time. Grace is LOVING this so we have already completed 2 of the 3 books we purchased.
Jeremy went in at the end of rest to find them both asleep snuggled up in their tent- so precious! Along with their doll collection and various other treasures.
Oh, the joys of childhood to be tiny enough to sleep in a homemade tent and imagine it is so much more!

Thanks Daddy for taking the pictures. It was a great break from our normal evening routine! I can't wait for Spring and many more evenings at the park.

Here is the cake we found that gave us the starting point for our ideas. Grace's cake of course had to be purple instead of pink. But, we used some of the general ideas. My mom took the pictures of her blowing out her candles so I will have to add those later. I used the laminator I got for Christmas to laminate a picture of Ruthie I printed. (much easier than icing or an edible transfer). This was my first try using Kristina's chocolate fondant and I LOVED it. I will definitely be using it for future birthdays.
