Fun at Papa and Gramy's House

Well our van has died a slow death....its headed for the salvage yard and we have officially lived out the phrase, "drive it till it dies." You might be wondering what that has to do with this post. Well, the first time our transmission gave us trouble Jeremy headed to his dad's house to fix it. (Which he did and then it died for good less than a week later, bummer) I hate being home alone on Saturdays, which I know is ironic since I do it five days a week. But, I love to do something out of our normal clean the house, cook the meals, do the laundry routine on Saturdays. So....when Jeremy went to be our mechanic we threw our stuff in our loaner car and headed to Illinois. It was a pretty impromtu trip but the kids had lots of fun.

Grace at "play." She is packing up stuff to go rake the yard.
Faith however is content to have Papa swing her.
Wait Papa me 2!
Wait Papa me 3!
The kids love playing with Roxie.
Helping pick up leaves.

Uncle stops in for a quick visit.
Papa keeps Titus busy while the girls cook.
Aunt Jo Jo was thinking about having cake "balls" at her wedding. We tried it out.

Well.....the kids liked them but the adults were not impressed at our first attempt. WAY to sweet and mushy.

Titus shoving his in...
All tuckered out from a great day of fun...like 3 peas in a pod (or 3 kids squished in a car).
Love when my kids get the chance to make memories with my parents!

End of Summer Clearance

On a recent trip to the home improvement store to buy some lumber for our Nativity Blocks project we wandered through the end of summer clearance and found this fancy new hammock for a great deal! We couldn't pass it up since our old one was being held together by zip ties. As you can see from the picture everyone couldn't wait to try it out. Now we just need the mosquitos to die so we can actually enjoy it a bit. It seems each year we have something we want to try to snag at the end of season clearance. I think our next item might have to be a fire pit....
(For the record it was blazing hot out side, but Grace insisted on dragging her blanket outside to snuggle it up.)
