"These are the Moments" Monday

These are the moments...
I realize my "baby" is growing up fast! We have our first official loose tooth at the Humiston household. I was all around shocked. (I didn't lose any teeth till like 2nd grade)

Didn't we just suffer through getting these teeth the first time around?

Well, soon enough one of those precious baby teeth will be under her pillow instead of in her mouth. (and yes, it will be a "good" thing) We will keep you posted on this so very important first.

"These Are The Moments" Monday

These are the moments...
I love having sisters.

I will never forget the day Jeremy and I went to baby #2's ultra sound. Jeremy was excited because after Grace being a surprise I had agreed to let him find out what was in store for us come October. In small talk with the technician we told her we had a daughter and she immediately thought we would be hoping for a son. She assumed Jeremy would be devastated if she couldn't confirm our hopes and dreams that we were getting a boy. I think she was operating under the perception of one girl, one boy & perfecto you are all done. But I assured her this wasn't our last baby and we would be excited no matter what. It was then she said, "Well, we don't ever tell people 100% but believe me you are having a girl." I think she was truly surprised at our genuine excitement. Jeremy started thinking about the possibility of them going to prom the same year or wanting to get married at the same time. I however was dreaming of perfect sister moments like this one. Snuggled up with dolls with matching pajamas as the cherry on top of a perfect sister sundae.

And of course I can't forget their trusty tag along too! (who insisted on inserting himself into the picture)

Faith & Grace's First Haircut

This past month was a big "first" for my girls. Both of them had their first hair cut. Faith's hair was much longer in the back and really needed a trim. So while Grace was at school we did it! She was very nervous, but that was okay because she sat very still. After it was done it looked so much nicer I kind of wished we had done it sooner.

Even though Faith broke the ice Grace was still very hesitant to have her hair cut. She adores her long hair. But the ends were so unhealthy so I decided it was time.

The before pictures:

After...I really had to coax her to get this little smile she was very unsure.
Since her hair had never been cut the girl had to cut several inches off to make it more healthy. She actually wanted to cut more, but I thought that was all we could handle for one day. I'm glad I listened to my mama instincts because by the time we reached the car Grace was in tears over how "short" her hair was. But, she has quickly adjusted and it has been much easier to detangle. The beautician assured her healthy hair grows much better. I thought it was hilarious when she repeated this to Gramy, but told her she wasn't to sure about this being true because her hair wasn't any longer yet. :)

Oh, how I love my girls' beautiful curly hair and I'm enjoying it now because I'm still not sure if it will stay curly or not.
