On Good Friday we went to my Aunt Di's house for a fun Easter "cousins" get together. Di Di and Gramy did a great job of planing lots of fun things for the girls to do. For lunch the girls each got to make their own individual pizza.
After lunch we had an Easter egg hunt. Get ready, get set, let's go. (inside of course due to the rain) Discovering all their loot. The girls also helped to make "nests" out of scotcheroos. They were very yummy! Kara brought supplies to make hair bows. Faith chose pink, of course. She loved hers and has worn it lots of time since. She was also a huge fan of the candy necklace. All us girls (big & little) especially enjoyed this get together, knowing the McClintock girls will soon be moving to China. Grace's response when I told her, "OH (sad tone) Can we visit Lilly there?" I'm guessing no...
Growing up I remember going to visit Jennifer at Lincoln was one of my favorite "big girl" things to do! So I was super excited about being able to provide that same experience for the girls. It was almost hard to believe that they were already old enough to come and visit, I remember talking to Jennifer when I first started college about the girls getting to come visit me when they were old enough. And now they are such big girls who were great guests!! We colored, had an easter egg hunt (at least 5 times), watched a Tangled, played hide and seek (again at least 10 times), and did many more fun activities! Probably one of my favorite moments of the weekend was at about 11:00 at night when we just finished watching Tangled. All through the movie, Faith kept asking is it almost over, and I couldn't figure out why because I knew she LOVED the movie.... And as soon as the movie was over she hopped up off my lap and started walking to my room... I asked her where she was going and she said "JoJo it is time for bed!" Who would have thought the three year old would have had to been the grown up? But with that I would say our action packed night was a great one and left the girls tired and ready for their very first JoJo sleep over. However I must say even after a late night, they were up plenty early for this college girl! So I did what any great aunt would do... let them watch a movie until I actually could get myself out of bed. Then we enjoyed making breakfast with Jakey! Faith got to make her very own coffee cake with me, while Grace got to draw her own pancakes with Jake. (thats right personalized breakfast meals... they couldn't agree, and what's an aunt to do but let them both get their way!) We had a great weekend together! I hope that the girls will look back on this memory and cherish it as much as I do the sleepovers I had with my sister.
I'm thankful Josie wrote this for me, I think it makes it so much more special for the girls to read someday. They had an absolute blast!
