Family Camp

This was our family's second year to attend family camp at High Hill Christian Camp. We love it and I think it is definitely going to be our annual Labor Day tradition. This year we invited our friends, The Whetstones, to go with us. Last year we stayed in a private room since Titus was still an infant. This year our two families rented a private cabin. It was super nice and perfect for two families with tiny children.

This year it was HOT! We let the kids stay up late to go swimming and then did smores by the pool. The weather was the complete opposite of last year.

Since we were swimming for such a short time ( it was like ten at night) Titus just hung out on the side of the pool.
The girls and I wore our matching bandannas again.
Here is the cabin we stayed in- it was very nice!

On Saturday we went swimming again and went down to the lake. The dads did the zip line and the blob. The boys were brave and tried out the water slide. I thought it would be fun to take Titus on it....until about half way down when I realized we were going WAY TO FAST and going to be catapulted into the deep lake and go under water....everyone said my face was priceless. We both had on life jackets and it turned out fine, but it was definitely more adventure than I was planning on.

This year the kids loved playing games like carpet ball, fooz ball, & "checkers."

Grace picked this lovely bouquet for our cabin.
Family pics just before leaving.... Titus was was past due for a nap.

It was a great memory making weekend! If your family doesn't have a Labor Day tradition you should totally join us next year!

A Trip to the Post Office

This fall we decided to try a new general schedule for our play group. After planning a lot of activities last year I was ready for something that was a bit more "low maintenance." So each month we are generally taking a tour, having free play, going on a trip, and having a week of preschool type activities. Our first tour was at the post office. The kids loved seing the inner workings of the post office.

Here all the kids are on the scale to see how much they weigh. (No mamas wanted to be involved ;)
Total Weight: 349 lbs!
Checking out the package carts.

Seeing how the mail is sorted. Each mailbox in Hannibal has a slot.
Faith choose a Toy Story stamp to mail the letter we wrote to our Compassion International child, Rosalina.

Happy Birthday to Me

On my birthday my family did a great job of making me feel special. The girls helped Jeremy make me this SUPER yummy ice cream cake (a new tradition). They are every bit as good as DQ and so much cheaper.
The girls dressed up and did a singing and dancing show for me. (The treadmill was their "stage")
They also made me this pink & purple crown.
Jeremy surprised me with flowers.
It wasn't a fancy birthday, but it was homemade and a great way to celebrate "29." Now....time to figure out what I want to accomplish before I turn 30. My first goal is to get healthy, so my birthday gift to myself was to join Weight Watchers.
