Apple Sauce Party

Some special family friends, The Trenhaile's, invited us over for an applesauce party. They have 3 apples trees in their yard and were kind enough to share some of their "extras." I'm not sure what I loved more the free all natural applesauce or spending time with the ladies making it!

Kathy has a neato machine that pretty much does all the hard work. All we did was pick, wash and cut the apples in half. After being cooked the machine takes out all the skin, seeds, and core and out comes apple sauce. Presto-let it cool and you have a yummy healthy batch of applesauce. I also invited my friend Danielle and her two boys to come along so the kids had fun playing and helping. They loved picking, washing, and even cranking the machine.

We have already eaten 1/3 of what we made that day! I put cinnamon and a tiny bit of sugar in a shaker. The girls love using their special "salt" or "sprinkles" on their applesauce. That way its sugar free for Titus and the girls only get a tiny bit. Nothing says fall like picking apples!
Ms. Kathy helps KJ reach an apple.
We filled this tub up many times!
Grace spies a "good one."
KJ gets in on the washing.
Faith had to pull pretty hard to get them off.

Grace & Faith help crank out the applesauce.

I had to get at least one with Titus. Love this pic, although I had to take the apple away right after I took it because he was trying to eat the leaves! (kind of unfair I know)
God continues to amaze me with his many blessings this fall!
