Pumpkin Patch

This past week our play group went to Mill Creek farm outside of Quincy, IL for a pumpkin patch experience. This is the first time I have taken the kids to a pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun. We started the morning by picking out our best "pumpkin" outfits for the occasion.
When we arrived we listened to an educational talk about pumpkins.
They learned the parts of the pumpkins, uses, and how it grows.
Then they acted out how a pumpkin grows. Grace & her friend Sophie were the pumpkin seeds. The farmer picked Grace up over her should and then sat her down in the dirt. She was not a big fan of that!
Then Faith and her friend Ava got to be the farmers who covered the seeds with "dirt."
Once again, Grace was not digging a sheet over her head and popped out her head.
Afterwards we went on a hay rack ride around the farm. Both girls got to choose a pumpkin and a gord.
Faith was pretty decisive.
Grace however had a very difficult time choosing.
Titus checks out some already picked pumpkins.
The weather was gorgeous and we ended our trip with a picnic lunch. It was the perfect way to spend a fall day!
We even got a few pictures!
